The design and production of physiologically active compounds is the focus of medicinal chemistry. Its goal is to develop new chemical structures that will help researchers better understand and alter physiological and/or pathological systems. It enables for the identification and optimization of innovative medications to fulfil unmet medical requirements in the end. The study of chemical and biochemical rationales for drug design and development is emphasised in Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry. They use current structural chemistry, biotechnology, and molecular biology techniques to a wide range of fields, including analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, organic chemistry, and pharmacology. Chemical biology and medicinal chemistry research span a wide range of topics, from the development of chemical tools to support and enhance basic biology to the application of knowledge in drug development.
