Medical toxicology is a subspecialty of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of poisoning and other adverse health effects caused by medications, occupational and environmental toxins, and biological agents. Medication side effects, occupational and environmental poisons, and biological agents are all examples of this. Medical toxicologists assist persons who have been into touch with medications, chemicals, or other factors that could have a negative impact on their health.
